Breaking: U.K. lawmakers endorse Johnson’s Brexit deal, giving it critical momentum. But disagreements over the timetable still could disrupt the plan.
LONDON—U.K. lawmakers Tuesday endorsed Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal, giving it critical momentum in Britain’s fractious Parliament and raising the prospect that the country’s protracted divorce from the European Union is finally entering its end game.
The fight isn’t over for Mr. Johnson, who faces further votes in the House of Commons that could delay or frustrate his deal. He even threatened to pull the deal if lawmakers refused to fast-track the legislation.
