On any other Memorial Day, most Major League Baseball teams would have held pregame ceremonies and worn special uniforms on Monday to honor American service members who gave their lives for their country.
But on a day without baseball -- or any other major sports -- the Boston Red Sox still kept the tradition alive by draping a giant American flag over Fenway Park's iconic left-field wall, the Green Monster. The team also featured aOf course, all major league ballparks are empty because of the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide shutdown of professional team sports. The Red Sox were originally scheduled to play the Kansas City Royals on Monday.
