Dozens of the 35cl counterfeit vodka, fraudulently labelled as the popular brand Glen’s, were recovered from the premises in Coatbridge after a customer reported 'smelling nail varnish'.
Over 40 bottles of of fake vodka have been seized from a shop in North Lanarkshire after a customer reported "smelling nail varnish".
North Lanarkshire Council's environmental health officers and Food Standard Scotland quickly moved in to remove the product from the shelves. Ron McNaughton, Head of the Scottish Food Crime and Incidents Unit at FSS, said: “Drinking these types of products presents a huge risk to health. The labelling, the look of the packaging and the smell can suggest something’s not right.
