A school has paid tribute to a boy who drowned while on an end-of-year trip to the Lake District.Darul Uloom Dawatul Imaan, the school he attended in Bradford, said the "tragic event" had a "profound effect" on the school community.
The school said it was cooperating with investigations by Cumbria Police and the Health and Safety Executive, which looks into the possible culpability of businesses in deaths and injuries. The Lake District National Park Authority confirmed the boy had been at the visitor centre at Brockhole on Windermere before entering the lake.The school said everyone was "heartbroken" and the teenager would be "greatly missed".
