The two latest Jaguar C-type Continuation models have a host of unique features
Continuation models designed to celebrate the original’s domination of the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans where C-types finished first, second, fourth, and ninth.are known as the ’70-Edition’. The first of them is finished in a special color of Verbier Silver with a Cranberry Red leather interior, a color and trim combination that Jaguar says will never be repeated.
For the most part, these two ’70-Edition’ variants are identical to all other C-type Continuation models being produced. However, they do feature prominent ’70-Edition’ stitching and embroidery throughout, unique badges, and painted roundels with the number 70. Beneath the gorgeous aluminum skin of the duo is a 3.4-liter naturally aspirated straight-six with triple Weber 40DCO3 carburetors that pumps out 220 hp. Each C-type Continuation model takes over 3,000 hours to construct atWorks in Coventry and the first examples have just started to reach the hands of customers around the world.
“Each C-type Continuation is a rare and special vehicle to grace any collection, but we are delighted to reveal these two exquisite editions to commemorate a landmark year for Jaguar and motorsport,” senior manager for strategy and business development at Jaguar Land Rover Classic, Matthew Bailey, said. “In 1953, the introduction of the disc-brake combined with C-type’s clever design and engineering, meant that the vehicle was dominant at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
