HOUSTON – A brawl broke out inside a courtroom Tuesday morning after the sentencing of a man who killed a 16-year-old girl.
The brawl happened after 19-year-old Frank DeLeon Jr. accepted a plea deal of 45 years in prison for the 2022 shooting death of Diamond Alvarez. During the victim impact statements, Alvarez's mother finished speaking and then can be seen walking toward DeLeon with her hands raised. An officer grabs the woman and at the same moment, a man jumps over a desk and attacks DeLeon.Another woman is then seen running from the back of the courtroom, pushing an attorney before she is tackled by officers.The Alvarez family has waited a long time to get justice for their loved one. Police say DeLeon shot Alvarez 22 times at a park back on Jan.
