Breakups between live in partners could get costly in Scotland
Couples that break up while living together could be eligible for support payments from their ex-partners, a new report on cohabitation law inA report aimed at reforming the law for cohabitors in Scotland published on Wednesday found that current legislation is “out of date, unclear and overly complicated.”
The latest recommended reforms are aimed at “achieving fairer outcomes” for couples living together by simplifying the law as well as a broader range of solutions for when couples split up.
