Brown was Philadelphia’s head coach from 2013 through the 2019-20 season, compiling a 221-344 regular-season record. Under his direction, the Sixers posted three straight 50-win seasons from 2017 to 2020, with three straight postseason appearances, after just 19, 18, 10 and 28 wins in Brown’s first four seasons as the club famously tanked.
Brown originally joined the Spurs as a member of their basketball operations department in the first championship season of 1998-99 but left after a year to coach the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League.
