Two of the suspects behind the terrorist attack on a concert hall in Moscow A former British soldier who was held prisoner of war after being captured in eastern Ukraine has compared the torture of the Moscow terror suspects with what he endured whilst in the hands of Russia. Shaun Pinner, from Watford, was taken in Mariupol during the early months of the invasion and spent five months in prison.
Prisoners of war who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to any unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind. In interviews, he said Vladimir Putin’s men repeatedly asked him if he was a Nazi, an SAS trooper or an MI6 agent. His captors cut his clothes off his body in order to search for right-wing tattoos, before stabbing him in the leg.
