British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe spotted arriving at Man United for takeover talks MUFC
The British billionaire – a self-confessed United fan – and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani have made offers to buy the Premier League giants. Ratcliffe shook hands with Richard Arnold
Ratcliffe owns global chemical company INEOS and is the owner of Swiss side Lausanne Sports and Ligue 1 outfit Nice. The 70-year-old was pictured outside the Theatre of Dreams prior to talks with Man United chief executive Richard Arnold.INEOS co-owners Andy Currie and John Reece and former British Cycling chief Sir David Brailsford, now director of sport at INEOS Sport, were also present.
Ratcliffe and his team also spent time at United’s training ground at Carrington, where they were given presentations and met manager Erik ten Hag. Ten Hag said at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Fulham: “I just met them, we shake hands, but I am focused on the game. We play a big game on Sunday and all our focus is on that. Others in the club are dealing with potential investors.”Ratcliffe will hear a presentation from United to justify their asking priceThe talks with Ratcliffe followed those from another prospective owner Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani’s representatives on Thursday.
