The Rhinos have made it public knowledge that they intend to sign the reigning Man of Steel.
It's no secret now that Leeds Rhinos are in for Brodie Croft. The Salford Red Devils halfback is a wanted man after the Rhinos tabled a bid to secure his services for 2024 and beyond.
When Salford signed Croft up to a historic contract earlier this year, they made him one of the highest-paid players in Super League. Not only did they make him a marquee player, paying him way in excess of £200,000 a year, but they offered him those terms on a seven-year contract that also had NRL release clauses included.
But if you were to put yourself in his agent's shoes, why would you leave? Not only is Croft being well paid, he has long-term security. Beyond that, there's the player's happiness to consider too. It's worth taking stock of Croft's journey at Salford, arriving fragile and lacking confidence after a difficult spell with Brisbane Broncos. Salford have helped him get back to his best and win the Man of Steel. He lives local to the area and is happy at the club.
