On March 7, 2022, at around 6:50 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of a male who had been injured in a shooting.Upon arrival, police found Bencosme with gunshot wounds to the neck and torso.Kelvin Mejia, 22, was arrested June 3, 2022 at around 7:50 a.m. He is charged with attempted criminally negligent homicide, assault, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.Copyright © 2023 WABC-TV.
