.CoryJamesTV spoke to witnesses who watched as Brooklyn subway attack suspect Frank James was taken into custody in the East Village on Wednesday.
As CBS2's Alice Gainer reports, cellphone video shows the 62-year-old being taken into custody by officers after multiple sightings of him were reported earlier in the day."He was quiet. I didn't see him carrying anything because his hands were handcuffed. They put him in the car. He did not say anything," witness Buddy Papaleo said.Some in the neighborhood told CBS2's Cory James they had no idea the alleged mass shooter was roaming their streets.
NYPD patrol officers from the Ninth Precinct spotted him walking at First Avenue and Saint Marks Place. Police sources said James was carrying a backpack and had a MetroCard on him, a phone, and a Wisconsin driver's license. He did not have any weapons on him.said. "We used every resource at our disposal to gather and process significant evidence that directly links Mr. James to the shooting. We were able to shrink his world quickly. There was nowhere left for him to run," NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said.
