Joining the six who automatically qualified through the points system are Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Sam Burns. The U.S. team is the defending champion of the biennial event, having won in 2021 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.Rickie Fowler was selected to the Ryder Cup team.Koepka, because of his affiliation with LIV Golf, was the most polarizing of the picks, but he finished seventh on the points list, just outside the top six who automatically qualified despite having played in only the major championships.
