The Browns wanted Landry back at a reduced rate, but he’ll test his value on the open market, and chances are, someone will snatch him up soon. If not, there’s a chance he could still return to Cleveland.
The Browns acquired Cooper, 27, in a trade with the Cowboys on Saturday for a fifth round pick in the 2022 draft and a swap of sixth-rounders. His $20 million contract for 2022 will fully guarantee on March 20th, and the Browns have him under contract for two more seasons after that at $20 million a year, which makes him tied for fifth among the top paid wideouts in the NFL.
Landry declined to conduct an official interview after his close friend Odell Beckham Jr. was released on Nov. 5th after his father shared the “Odell Beckham Jr. is always Open’' video on his social media. “I have put the ball in CLE court by telling them I would like to stay but if not then I’m confident enough in myself to be a better healthy me this year and moving forward to helping do my part in winning a championship elsewhere.’’He punctuated those four tweets with “I GAVE EVERYTHING!!!! EVERYTHING.”
