BruceWillis celebrates the 34th anniversary of DieHard by paying a visit to Fox Plaza, the Los Angeles tower that fans know as Nakatomi Plaza.
Bruce Willis is paying a visit to the iconic tower of Die Hard to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the film’s release. Los Angeles’ Fox Plaza skyscraper is better known to Die Hard fans as Nakatomi Plaza, the headquarters of the Nakatomi Corporation, where Willis’ John McClane liberates a group of hostages taken by a group of terrorists led by Hans Gruber .
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The role of John McClane was turned down by action superstars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone before it was eventually awarded to Willis. Known primarily as a television actor at the time, Willis was considered a poor investment by industry professionals, and expectations for the film were low as a result.
The video comes as a welcome homage to Willis’ legendary career following news of his retirement due to aphasia, a brain disorder that affects the ability to express and comprehend speech. The announcement was rightfully met with an outpouring of love and support for Willis and a recognition of his innumerable successes across nearly 50 years in the film and television industry.
Luckily, Willis isn’t quite finished adding to his resumé. The actor still has numerous upcoming projects in post-production that he filmed before publicly revealing his diagnosis, including Wire Room and Paradise City. Bruce Willis’ legacy will undoubtedly continue to be celebrated long after the release of his final films. After all, he has nearly a hundred projects to his name for fans to revisit in between annual Christmas viewings of Die Hard.
