Sophy Ridge is now joined by our deputy political editor Sam Coates, to discuss what might happen in tomorrow's budget.Sam says there's 'something really odd going on'.'During the election campaign, the argument from Keir Starmer was that if you're going to spend more on public services you're going to have to get it through growth.'But, Sam explains, 'this government put that in the bin, more or less'.
'That is precisely the argument that they didn't want to make during the election campaign, they thought it was going to scare the horses.'Sam asks whether the news Labour MPs want to hear - more money into the NHS, a higher minimum wage - 'trump the bad news of the consequences of the squeezes'.He says there are clearly some 'nasties' to come in Wednesday's budget.
