The official said that the warrant was approved “at the highest levels” of the department, while not naming specific individuals who may have signed off. Burr has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in his sale of up to $1.7 million in stocks on Feb. 13, with many trades involving industries hit hard in the wake of COVID-19's spread throughout the U.S.
