“I know quite a lot about lots of them because I’ve either been an instructor or a commissioner over the years. Birmingham Council also failed to recognise problems around equal pay settlements he said, leaving it having to pay up to £760m to settle claims, equivalent to its entire annual spending on services.
Commissioners set financial targets and hold the council to account for the budget, he said, with the proposals agreed on Tuesday the council’s own.
