Emergency crews rushed to the scene
A man brought a busy Greater Manchester road to a standstill after climbing onto a roof. Emergency services spent around two hours on St Helens Road, in Leigh, while the incident unfolded.
Firefighters were called out to the scene at around 2pm today . Eyewitnesses also reported seeing police and the ambulance service at the scene. Officers blocked off part of St Helens Road to traffic while the man was on the roof, with local bus services disrupted.
