The American Snout butterfly's annual migration is catching unsuspecting San Antonians by surprise.
" Facebook page on Tuesday asking about the staggering amount of butterflies.
"Is it normal to see thousands of butterflies in San Antonio this time of year or what," Short wrote."Cause what in the world?" The American Snout Butterfly usually emerges in large numbers and migrates north, according to Texas A&M AgriLife. Soon, San Antonians will experience the annual migration of the Monarch Butterfly, which will migrate south to Mexico.One of the side effects of the migration are cars covered in butterfly remnants. The butterflies are not attracted to Texas roadways, but instead, are just so numerous that they're unavoidable.
