Mullagrach is part of the Summer Isles off the coast of Scotland You can now buy your very own Scottish island for a bargain £500,000, but social butterflies need not apply. While Mullagrach Island boasts a whopping 88.7 acres of land, it’s in the middle of nowhere and only has a tiny log cabin for you to live in. Its new owner will need to take a 35-minute boat ride to get to and from the mainland, while the nearest city – Inverness – is a two-hour, 80 mile journey away.

Planning permission for the eco-friendly cabin was granted in 2014 and it was then made in Switzerland, to bring the best tech to the remote Scottish spot.
