C.J. Stroud is off to a historic start with the Houston Texans and it's helping Ohio State make its case as 'Quarterback U.'
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- C.J. Stroud’s rookie season with the Texans has gotten off to the type of start that suggests anEverything that made Stroud a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year has quickly translated to the next level. He earned Rookie of the Month honors for September whilst completing 94 of 151 passes for 1,212 yards and six touchdowns.
As the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, he added to the new standard Ryan Day had built for quarterbacks in Columbus as the third-straight starter to go in the first round. Four games into his career, he is helping Day start to change another narrative surrounding OSU quarterbacks in how they perform once they get to the league.
The early returns on Stroud’s success could end with him eventually joining that list. The school once heavily known for producing high-level edge rushers and cornerbacks has now become the school shipping out quarterbacks and wide receivers.
