At least 5,271,000 people have contracted the coronavirus in the United States since late January, killing at least 167,278, both figures the most in the world, according to the tally.Coronavirus hotspots in the United States had disproportionately high numbers of cases among communities of color, according to an analysis on Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .
