The sheriff's office led a major manhunt that included more than 70 sworn officers from multiple agencies as well as a non-stop search by air overnight, it said. Authorities warned that a suspect brazen enough to open fire on law enforcement and kill a hostage in their presence — allegations made by authorities investigating the April violence — could be very dangerous.The public was asked to exercise"extreme caution" and call 911 if he was spotted, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
