A call has been made to consider higher fines for irresponsible dog owners after prosecutors were handed a £29,000 bill for kennel fees for two vicious terriers that a sheriff ordered be destroyed.

Mimnaugh, of Omoa Road, Cleland, admitted that his animals were dangerously out of control on August 28 last year.
