Houston airports seek musicians to perform in terminals at Bush and Hobby airports.

The passenger pickup level of William P. Hobby Airport is photographed Monday, March 20, 2023, in Houston.Houston airports are calling all local musicians to apply for a chance to perform at the region's largest and most popular airports.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport want to hire musicians and musical groups for Harmony in the Air, the airport system's award-winning performing arts program. Musicians will have the chance to perform for millions of people each year. “Since we launched Harmony in the Air in 2015 this has become one of our passenger favorites anytime they're traveling through George Bush Intercontinental or Hobby Airport," said Melanie Brown, assistant director of guest experiences for Houston Airports.

If selected, musicians will get three-year contracts with the City of Houston and Houston Airports. The contracts offer two one-year renewal options. Each musician or group will be granted at least 26 performances and paid for three-hour performances, officials said. Applicants must be Harris County residents and have at least eight years of professional performance experience.
