John Gemmell has hung up his boost to start out in coaching and Camby will provide opposition in pre-season
Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl and club legend John Gemmell are looking forward to pitting their wits against each other next month – as former striker ‘The Beast’ prepares to make his management bow.
Camby will play Stewarton as part of their pre-season schedule next month, which also includes games against Rutherglen Glencairn on July 10, Glenafton Athletic on July 13 and East Kilbride Thistle on July 17. “I’ll be bringing in some ex-team-mates of mine to join the team and I’m excited for this new challenge. I will give it my best shot. We’ve made a big signing in Kier Milliken, who is my player/coach and won loads with Auchinleck Talbot over the years, so that is a big statement from us and shows what we will be about.
He said: “Big Gemmell is running things at Stewarton now so that will be a good one. He is a good lad and he’ll probably be able to get some good players on board, so he’ll definitely bring a good side. I think he will do alright in management. He has played at a good level. It is not the same managing as it is playing but he’s got a bit about him and, hopefully, it goes well for him.
