Traffic light cameras confirmed for notorious junctions as roadworks planned
After years of campaigning by councillors, residents and former MP Rosie Cooper, Lancashire County Council previously agreed to install so called 'speed on green cameras' at two junctions on County Road. The cameras work by capturing both those who pass through red lights and those caught speeding through green lights.
Among those, 69-year-old John Roberts died following a crash between his BMW and a Mercedes lorry just days before Christmas in 2017. The lorry driver, William Wright, received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to causing death by careless driving.
