Supposedly, it's a way to circumvent any game playing, in favour of getting straight to the point.
Mathews appeared to balk at the idea, suggesting that a little mystery is important to romance, illustrating his thought with an anecdote about a friend who asks her dates whether they want children on their first encounter. To which Diaz replied: 'So [your friend] was a natural hardballer from he beginning. "This is what I want. Are you in?" No.'
Diaz then appeared to put further stock in the idea, saying: '[It's about realising] you're not [in the same place as me] but that's OK. That's OK. Because then you at least know. You at least know you're not in the same place. I think that's what dating is all about.'And Diaz concluded: 'And if the other person is not holding on to you, let go of them.'
