Canton Police arrested an 18-year-old man in a shooting Friday that left a 37-year-old man dead.
Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren says the shooting happened around 10:31 p.m. in the 1900 block of Maple Avenue.
Garren said officers found the 37-year-old man inside the home with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Canton Police said Canton Fire transported the 37-year-old, later identified as Dontae Crayton, to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Garren said officers arrested the 18-year-old, Savier Smiley, shortly after the shooting in a nearby residence.Copyright 2023 WOIO. All rights reserved.
