At least 18 people killed in a car bomb attack in Afghanistan's eastern province of Logar just hours before a scheduled ceasefire
At least 18 people, including Afghan security forces personnel, have been killed in a suspected car-bombing in eastern Afghanistan.
The ceasefire, announced by the Taliban, comes at a time violence has risen across the war-torn country as US-brokered peace talks between the militant group and an Afghan government-mandated committee await the completion of a prisoner exchange between the two sides.The Islamic Emirate due to compassion of the Amirul-Momineen and as a goodwill gesture, will release the remaining prisoners of the Kabul Administration before Eid al-Adha, thus completing the release of 1000 prisoners.
