Plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the vehicle
A car burst into flames on the M53 . Emergency services were called to the M53 southbound, between junction 3 Woodchurch and the exit slip road for junction 4 Clatterbridge on Monday, September 2. Crews were alerted at 10.53am and on scene at 11.05am, with two fire engines attending. When firefighters arrived at the scene one car was found to be 'well alight'.
Two people inside the car got out before the fire service attended and were uninjured. Crews made the vehicle safe for recovery and left the incident with National Highways.
