A vehicle that crossed the Utah state line during a police pursuit crashed on a Wyoming highway after exceeding speeds of 160 miles per hour.
Troopers with Wyoming Highway Patrol said that they were contacted by deputies with the Summit County Sheriff's Office in Utah about a chase in progress where the suspect vehicle was headed towards Evanston on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 5.
Once the vehicle has crossed over, troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a moving violation at which point the vehicle fled reaching speeds over 160 miles per hour - over twice the legal speed limit. Stop stick were deployed on the Charger and the driver crashed near milepost 21 in the eastbound lanes of I-80.
Both occupants of the vehicle reportedly fled on foot but were eventually caught and arrested without incident.
