A mum who was out walking her dog believes a lamppost saved their lives after an out-of-control driver drove straight towards them.
Steph Cudmore was walking her miniature schnauzer Rufus in a quiet residential street in the Sunny Hill area of Derby on Monday.
Describing the incident Steph, who lives in Sunny Hill with husband Ian and eight-year-old son Charlie, said: ‘I had not long turned onto Donington Drive when I heard tyre screeches and a car nearby. ‘I saw the car lose control and come straight at me. I remember time slowing down and looking down at my legs as the car approached me. It was less than half a metre in front of me when I decided to move out of the way.‘I felt my legs go and I was on the floor and I heard the bang from the car hitting the lamppost.
