As anyone who has ever endured a painful breakup knows, sometimes the only way out is through it — and that can involve plenty of tears., Rainsford explained that the idea for the song and video came from her own experiences. “I wrote it after a breakup, when I was essentially begging my ex to get back together… which we did, briefly, but it didn’t last,” the singer-songwriter said, adding that she’s always felt compelled to stare at herself in the mirror when crying.
