The Arizona Cardinals lost more than a game against the San Francisco 49ers while in Mexico City.
Kliff Kingsbury told The Arizona Republic’s Bob McManaman the team fired offensive line coach/running game coordinator Sean Kugler for an incident Saturday in Mexico City.. “It’s challenging anytime you make a staff change in that type of manner.”The Cardinals were in Mexico City for the weekend and through a “Monday Night Football” loss to the 49ers.
The team has not specifically addressed the nature of the incident or said exactly why Kugler was fired, though he is no longer listed under “coaching staff” on theThe line will now be coached by assistant offensive line coach Brian Natkin and tight ends coach Steve Heiden. The 56-year old Kugler had been on the Cardinals’ coaching staff since 2019. Before coaching in Arizona, he’d worked in a similar capacity with the Broncos, Steelers, Bills and Lions as well as at the collegiate level.
