Randy Crawford, 67, died in the crash that also killed another experienced Pa. pilot
Carlisle resident Randall Crawford, 67, died in a mid-air collision in White Haven, Florida, earlier this week. Friends in the Carlisle area remember him for being soft-spoken, kind, and passionate about planes and travel. “He is going to be really missed. Terribly missed…He is really creating a large, empty space in his absence,” Fred Seltzer, a friend from Crawford's church community, said.
Crawford, who lived in Carlisle with his girlfriend Eloise Smith, was on his yearly trip to see his family in Tampa, Florida, having just visited family in Missouri and in Tennessee. He always made sure to fly float planes at Brown’s Seaplane Base because he loved landing on the water, according to Steven Smith, his girlfriend’s son.
