Carnage is getting a promotion in Marvel's Summer of Symbiotes, taking an epic new form on his mission to become the new King in Black. Web of Carnage and Death of the Venomverse art sees Carnage showcasing his new god powers.
Marvel will soon have a new King in Black: Carnage, and he has unveiled an ultimate form that proves he has what it takes. This summer, Marvel will be shining a spotlight on the symbiotes in the Summer of Symbiotes event, and central to it all is Carnage. In July’s Web of Carnage #1, the villain’s rise to power comes to a head, as he prepares to ascend to the position of the all-powerful King in Black. And with Carnage as the King...
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Marvel unveiled more information on not only Web of Carnage, but another Carnage-themed book–The Death of the Venomverse, at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo . Web of Carnage, from regular Carnage writer Ram V and artist Francesco Manna, takes place in the aftermath of Carnage’s violent attack on Miles Morales and the other heroes. Adrift in space, the Carnage symbiote finds a new purpose: to become the next King in Black.
The Summer of Symbiotes is the next step in the evolution of symbiotes in the Marvel Universe. Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s Venom run introduced Knull, AKA the King in Black. The god of the symbiotes, Knull waged war against the cosmic entities of the Marvel Universe. He eventually came to Earth, and its heroes, led by Venom, turned him back. After Knull’s defeat, Eddie Brock took the role of King in Black, and left Earth for space.
Forget Knull, 'King Carnage' Will Be A Universal Threat The implications of Carnage becoming the next King in Black are terrifying. As the King in Black, Carnage would have total control over all the symbiotes in the universe. Knull used them to massacre and enslave cosmic beings, whereas Eddie is using them as agents of good. In Carnage’s hands, the symbiotes would become one of the most destructive forces in the Marvel Universe–more than the Brood and more than the Annihilation Wave.
Borends’ cover to Death of the Venomverse shows just what Carnage could look like as the new King in Black. Carnage has never looked as fierce or intimidating, and it is easy to see him defeating Eddie Brock and taking the title from him. If Carnage becomes the new King in Black, it could spell the end of the Marvel Universe.
