Last November, Chaoui walked most of the 2019 New York City Marathon, finishing in 5:39. She spoke tofor an article and video profile. “Having a terminal illness is definitely scary,” she said. “But I feel like most of the times I’m hopeful. I can definitely acknowledge those moments of fear and worry and doubt, but I can’t let that dictate my life. I have to stay positive and keep on living and the running really helps.
