Cate Blanchett stunned on the BAFTAs red carpet in familiar gown
The acclaimed actress made a statement in sustainable dressing at this year's EE British Academy Film Awards. For the ceremony, the star re-wore the gothic Maison Margiela gown that she wore to the 2015 Oscars. The black velvet gown features padded shoulders lined with frayed fabric, a backless keyhole cutout, and a short train.

She also added a blue ribbon from the UN Refugee Agency, as a symbol of solidarity with refugees and displaced people around the world.Blanchett previously styled the gown with a statement turquoise necklace, comprised of dozens of tiny stones held together with silver netting.The Oscar winner has been a longtime advocate of sustainability on the red carpet.
"In order to move forward, it's a gift to be able to look back. As we reemerge, it's a chance to reassess—and cinema is always doing that, looking back on its past, paying homage and using that inspiration to forge new moments," she told the trade publication."Look atwe retell that story over and over, and each time we tell it there's new things to be found. And this is not some strange club. I'm not the only person doing this.
