After a decorated 19-year career, CC Sabathia announced his retirement.
Published 10:17 AM EDT Oct 21, 2019Sabathia, who is retiring from baseball after a 19-year career, posted a thank you note on his social media channels Monday morning, recognizing his teammates from his days in Cleveland, Milwaukee and, of course, New York, where he won a World Series title in 2009.
"I'm so thankful to have experienced this journey with every teammate past and present," Sabathia wrote."All I ever wanted was to be a great teammate and win."Astros and Nationals will have their eyes on each other in World Series Sabathia's career came to an end in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, injuring his shoulder while pitching, and having to make an emotional walk off the field to a standing ovation from the Yankee Stadium crowd."I'm so proud of this year's team. We fought til the end. Love you guys!"
