On Friday night, she ended her set with a stirring rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in honor of "Maman Dion," whose photo served as the stage's backdrop. Despite her loss, Dion reassured fans that the show would take place as scheduled in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon.
"Maman, we love you so much… We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart," she wrote in the caption of an old family photo. "Je t’aime maman," she said in another post the following day, which featured a clip of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" live.
