The Hoops went into the game looking to bounce back after their shock Viaplay Cup exit to Kilmarnock in the previous outing but they weren't able to break down the visitors as they both shared the spoils in a display the Parkhead gaffer described as 'huffed and puffed' while he was unhappy with the tempo of the game from the home side.
The result leaves Celtic on seven points from three Scottish Premiership outings so far this season ahead of of a big Old Frim derby with Michael Beale and Rangers next time out. The Light Blues picked up a win on the road at Ross County with Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier hitting the back of the net ahead of huge Champions League showdown with PSV.
Speaking after the home draw yesterday, Rodgers told Celtic TV: “We huffed and puffed a little bit. Their keeper’s made a couple of great saves, but Joe Hart had to make a couple of great saves as well. “We didn’t play with the speed in the game or the craft in that final third of the pitch to finish any opportunities, so we arrived into a lot of good areas but we didn’t do enough with it sadly.
“It was too slow. We knew what the game was going to be, with them camped in, but the speed of our game was not there.”
