Rodgers reckons his team were 'electric' as they left Rangers zapped at Parkhead
Brendan Rodgers hailed electric Celtic after they zapped Rangers. And the Parkhead manager believes his exciting team are just getting started after the emphatic triumph that capped two months graft on and off the park.
It was the perfect end to an excellent few days as Rodgers added: “We were busy since the first day of pre-season. You go back to the 27th of June, all the work that the players, the staff, the club have put in, right the way through the transfer window. “There’s such a long way to go, but all you can do is make the first step in a positive way and the players clearly have done that. But it’s just keeping the focus there, giving the clarity. Again, I go back to pre-season because it’s such an important period for us to establish a lot of principles and build on them. It’s an exciting team, working well.”
“I just think there’s development there, but having that possibility is obviously really nice because we’ve all had moments in our career where maybe you don’t quite have the players that can make the impact. That’s what we’ve been trying to build. That was the importance of getting that depth into the squad. It’s a really healthy squad.”
