Japanese four-piece CHAI are back with a new self-titled album, out September 22nd via Sub Pop. Lead single “PARA PARA” pays homage to Japanese city pop, a cultural wave which swept the country in the 1980s. The aesthetics of the genre are bright, retro and synthy, much likeitself promises to be. “PARA PARA” is a bright, eclectic celebration of J-Pop’s evolution.
CHAI celebrates their cultural heritage in their new single, a sparklingly winsome representation of art-rock and neo-kawaii.
