As painful as this Warriors season has been, the team can still take advantage of a more chaotic than usual West.
Golden State Warriors
As painful as it’s been to watch Stephen Curry’s sublime twilight potentially wasted yet again, Golden State is still currently the No. 8 seed, just 4.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns, a team some pundits have referred to as “regular-season fool’s gold” or “those frauds from the hot place in the desert.” In this confused playing field, the Warriors find themselves uniquely suited to take advantage of a more chaotic than usual West, even when they’re playing far from their best basketball.
In all fairness, the Warriors are a unique team with a very idiosyncratic style, both on the court and off. Every roster shake-up is a minor duel with the fates when it comes to who fits and who doesn’t, who rises and who falls, whether they be free agents looking for redemption or young guns champing at the bit to get reps and chase their destinies. It’s a thin line between Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr., as they say.
