Charlie Cox promoted Daredevil's Disney+ arrival by giving viewers a brief synopsis of the Marvel show, and explaining why he thinks it's so special. 'Daredevil represents the idea that small, day-to-day acts of kindness can make big differences...'🙌

Charlie Cox promotes Daredevil on Disney+ with a new video in which he describes what the former Netlfix series means to him. Cox made his debut as a lawyer by day, Devil of Hell’s Kitchen by night in Daredevil, which premiered on Netflix in 2015. Matt Murdock/Daredevil paved the way for Marvel’s other street-level heroes to defend the small screen via Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Punisher, and The Defenders.

Daredevil and Marvel’s other Netflix shows reference the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, they were never overtly considered canon by Marvel Studios before their cancellation. Fans were left to wonder if, when, and how characters like Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil would ever be properly introduced to the MCU. Last year, however, Daredevil and his iconic adversary, Kingpin , made their official MCU debuts in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Disney+ series Hawkeye, respectively.

As previously mentioned, D’Onofrio reprised his role of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Hawkeye. In the Hawkeye season 1 finale, Maya Lopez/Echo shot Kingpin in retaliation for her father’s death. However, the camera panned away before the audience actually saw him die. This moment mirrors a Daredevil #15 storyline, in which Kingpin manipulated Echo into believing Daredevil was responsible for her father’s death. In the comics, Kingpin survived the encounter and is temporarily blinded.
