Charlie Mulgrew swung by Celtic training on Tuesday as preparations ramped up for their Champions League showdown with Lazio.
Brendan Rodgers and his team are getting ready for battle at Parkhead as they look to bounce back from an opening day Group E defeat to Feyenoord. It's their penultimate game before the international break as the look to finish on a high with the Italians coming to town before they face Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Kyogo and co were put through their paces with Rodgers and his assistants Gavin Strachan, John Kennedy and Harry Kewell working the stars hard 24 hours ahead of the game. But they had a familiar face visiting too...former Hoops defender Mulgrew who stopped by for an up close and personal look. Mulgrew didn't play under Rodgers in his first spell, leaving for Blackburn shortly after his arrival but he was offered training facilities by the Irishman for the first few months of his tenure.
And they gave off the air of old pals as Mulgrew was snapped chatting with Rodgers and his staff on the Lennoxtown pitch. Former Scotland star Mulgrew has been out of contract since leaving Dundee United and it's unclear what his next move is, with Jim Goodwin hinting the 37-year-old wasn't finished playing yet. But if he's looking at getting into coaching then there are worse environments to learn in than behind the scenes at the champions.
