.darkhorsecomics preview: Check out injculbard's Salamandre
Berger Books and Dark Horse Comics have provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of Salamandre, an upcoming graphic novel about family, loss, and the freedom of art from award-winning writer and artist I.N.J. Culbard . Inspired by Culbard's travels as a child, the book will be available at comic shops and bookstores on December 20 from Dark Horse Comics.
The graphic novel hails from Berger Books, Dark Horse's imprint run by longtime Vertigo Comics mastermind Karen Berger. Other titles from the imprint include Incognegro: Renaissance, The Seeds, and Hungry Ghosts. "Writing what you know is really about writing what you think you know," said I.N.J. Culbard."Instead of what really happened, a confabulation grows with each retelling—a story, transforming a factual truth into a universal one.
Ultimately his search for answers brings him face to face with the meaning of sacrifice. But will anything bring him closer to overcoming his loss?
